Servers prepare the altar before Mass and assist the priest during Mass. Altar Servers play a key role in the important celebrations at Christmas, Easter and other feast days throughout the year. Our group is a member of the Guild of St Stephen, a national organisation that promotes the ministry of servers at the altar.
There are about forty servers working on a rota basis, covering each of the Masses on Saturday evenings and Sundays. There are also organised training and social events. Parish boys and girls are welcomed over the age of eight who have been on the First Holy Communion Programme.
